Summary
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Beale
Pools, Beale AFB, CA.
This is a temporary position, not to exceed November 1, 2025.
This position is flexible, not guaranteed hours and does not
receive benefits.
This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the
incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

Duties
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities at a
designated pool. Serves as lead lifeguard and performs lifeguard
duties. Overseas pool operations, maintains order and enforces
established rules of safety and behavior. Inspects and sets up
facilities for scheduled activities, i.e. open swim, swim lessons,
water aerobics, scuba classes, pool parties, lap swim, etc. and
ensures the facility is opened at the scheduled times with adequate
staffing. Cleans and maintains swimming facilities and ensures
hourly chemical checks are conducted and documented. Establishes
and monitors work schedules and provides on the job training to new
employees. Resolves routine complaints with minimal impact to the
activity, and refers more complex or unique situations to the
supervisor. May be assigned to perform swim instruction duties as
needed if certified.

* The position requires the following certifications: American Red
Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, American Red Cross Basic
First-Aid and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
* This position requires practical knowledge of swimming activates,
rules and procedures as well as pool safety and pool maintenance
requirements.
* This is a temporary position, not to exceed 1-Nov-2025.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard training
certification and prior experience as a lifeguard. Must have
experience which has demonstrated leadership abilities.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the
required experience in order to qualify. This position does not
allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or
universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show
proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least
equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
