- Electric Division Manager - Customer Engagement: Role within
the UtilityThe Senior Electric Division Manager - Customer
Engagement leads the utility strategy to meet a Carbon Free future
while demand continues to grow at 10% per year. This role has
primary accountability for providing leadership in the Customer
Services division which implements new technology, customer
programs, and education initiatives for the City of Santa Clara
residents and businesses.Principles and practices include:
- Overseeing energy efficiency and income qualified/equity
- Public and fleet electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure
development and EV adoption
- Micro-grid, distributed energy, and battery storage
- Reach code development and building electrification
- Data Center and Key Customer communications
- Maintain, create, and foresee future customer experiences
through the website, social media, print materials, and educational
opportunities.Specific accountabilities and qualifications in this
role include:
- Demonstrated leadership with workgroups with the ability to
develop vision, set priorities, establish goals, and deliver
quantifiable results.
- Background in coordination with internal staff and the
community on policy-level responses and maximization of customer
engagement.
- Experience in creating a new voluntary large customer renewable
program focusing on energy procurement bundled with environmental
attributes emphasizing emissions.
- Developed a team with strong analytic skills for developing,
analyzing, and presenting data/information/trends within the
utility.
- Ability to develop and implement the strategy to meet Carbon
Free future by 2035 while demand is growing 10% per year.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain effective professional
relationships with department peers, bargaining units, employees,
and citizens.
- Lead the development and succession planning to ensure
efficient succession plan implementation.Community

- Bachelor's Degree: in Accounting, Economics, Engineering,
Business Administration, Financial or Risk Management, Marketing,
Mathematics, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
Substitutions: 8 years of applicable electric utility experience
may be substituted for the education requirement.
- Experience: Six (6) years of experience at a responsible level
in engineering, administration, contracts administration, customer
relations, and strategic services. Substitutions: An advanced
degree may be substituted for up to 2 years' experience on a
year-for-year basis.
- Management Experience: Two (2) years of management
experience.
- Relocation/ability to report to the office in Santa Clara.For
