Job Summary:
This job description highlights the key responsibilities of a
versatile Field Service Technician who is cross-trained in
essential areas such as firestopping, doors, and dampers. The
technician will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and
efficiency by effectively managing these vital components.
A typical day may include:
Complete Field Inspection Form to determine pass/fail based on the
criteria documented by the Codes and Standards.
Inspection of fire-rated and smoke doors per NFPA 80.
Inspect & repair fire/smoke barriers per NFPA/IBC/UL
requirements.
Inspection of fire dampers, per NFPA 80 statutes and codes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and life safety
drawings.
Submit report of findings based on Code/Standards.
Attach NCI code stickers on openings as required.
Take photos of openings and deficiencies as required.
Submit inspection findings via daily upload of data (daily
sync).
Make adjustments and/or install products to bring openings into
compliance.
Each day maintain a safe working environment and upon completion of
work ensure job site is clean and clear of debris.
Ensure that all job requirements and timesheets are completed,
signed and submitted accurately to ensure all job requirements are
processed in a timely manner and all timesheets reach the payroll
department before cutoff.
Legibly complete all job requirements to document work performed
and/or recommended, and collects cut sheets when applicable; call
management if a problem occurs or the scope of work changes.
Update inspection of opening, post-repair.
Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work
independently and efficiently.
Good record keeping and tracking of facilities inspections.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be efficient with smartphones, tablets, computers, and
Microsoft Office for reporting daily progress to Operations
Support.
Travel as required

The associate is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands
to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with
hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or
crawl; talk and hear. Twist, bend, reach. Climb depending in above
ceiling conditions.
Work in small, tight or confined spaces.
Working on ladders for extended periods of time.
Working inside containment units (Small Tight Space)
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Working extended hours, including evenings, nights and weekends may
be required.
Additional Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver license.
Ability to travel up to 100% of the time. (This will vary depending
on market)
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
