Storage is seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to work in our
Manufacturing Operation Engineering team, partnering with HW Design
Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, Contract Manufacturing
partners, and Suppliers to drive commodities supplier quality
performance and quality issue closure. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for defining and implementing the supplier quality
metric and leading the closed-loop failure analysis activities. The
role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance
principles, IC components, manufacturing, qualification processes,
and reliability tests to ensure the components meet the quality,
reliability, and performance requirements of our
products.Responsibilities
- Partner with operation engineers, design engineers, commodity
managers, commodity suppliers, and manufacturing partners to
establish supplier quality management processes and standards for
Pure Storage products.
- Define, implement, execute, and monitor supplier quality
requirements such as DPPM performance/goal, review factory DPPM,
SPC, scorecard, failure analysis turnaround time, and other
supplier quality-related metrics.
- Present supplier quality performance metrics to management and
cross-functional teams regularly.
- Drive suppliers for closed-loop failure analysis investigations
to identify root causes of component failure and provide
recommendations for mitigation and corrective actions.
- Support Pure production and ensure supply chain continuity
(second source, component quality issues, Supplier Product/Process
Change Notification Management, Pure ECO/MCO review, and
disposition).
- Collaborate with component suppliers to establish component
quality data monitoring and reporting requirements to ensure
component quality and reliability compliance throughout the product
lifecycle.
- Responsible for supplier selection, qualification, and
audits.Qualifications
- 10+ years of component experience in IC manufacturing and
testing, supplier quality management, supplier audits, and
component reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
Science, or other engineering disciplines is required.
- Proven experience in supplier quality management, component
qualification, second source, and failure analysis in a fast-paced
high-tech industry.
- Proficiency in executing diverse testing and analysis
techniques and statistical analysis.
- Component knowledge with DRAM, DIMM, NAND, and IC components is
preferred. Basic understanding of HBA, Optics, and PSU function is
a plus.
- Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Agile) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards
of supplier quality and component reliability in all aspects of
work.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate
across functional teams and present technical information clearly
and concisely.
- As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be
present in the office for 3 days a week, as outlined in Pure's
Hybrid Work Policy, with variations depending on business need.Pay
RangeUSD $163,000.00 - USD $246,000.00 /Yr.Pay Transparency
StatementSalary ranges are determined based on role, level, and
location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical
locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market
across the applicable locations.This role may be eligible for
